The campaign against me on this issue is built on attacks and lies. I have never advocated for a total ban on abortion. This topic is important, but it’s settled. Let’s talk about what we can do to improve life for everyone in Kansas. That is my focus, what impacts your family every day – taxes, safe streets, good schools, and better healthcare. It’s time for common ground, not more political division.
Birth control. IVF. Healthcare freedom. The list of lies about what I supposedly want to ban grows with each attack. Here are the facts: I do not support bans on birth control and IVF. I am a staunch supporter of healthcare freedom on these and other issues. The more government gets involved in saying what's okay and what's not, the less freedom you have to choose what's best for you, your family, your children. I'll work to increase access to quality healthcare everywhere in our state, and support policies that help families who choose to grow their family do so, like increasing child tax credits, adoption tax credits, and quality childcare options. The bottom line: your freedom to make choices that are best for you is a top priority no matter what legislation we are considering.
As candidates, we get dozens upon dozens of surveys, most asking for detailed answers on what a specific organization wants to promote. My focus is on what the people of this district tell me matters to them. When a survey appears to be neutral questions and I have time to do it well, I answer. Occasionally it has questions I've answered before and can quickly do again. When it's full of questions about issues long past or settled, or topics I don't hear about from multiple constituents, I spend the time it would take to answer those walking to your doors, making sure we've had a chance to connect if you are home, and listening to the people's concerns.
I cannot answer for work others put out, but if I approved the mailer or video, I was careful to research any position or votes I listed. The reason I am running is my opponent's voting record does not reflect what the people want and need: lower taxes, safe communities, and freedom to live and work with as little government interference as possible.
